Volunteer Commitments
Volunteer memberships require a volunteer commitment of two club events, coxing at one club practice, plus 20 additional hours of general club activities. Volunteer hours should be recorded in the log book located in the boathouse. Non-volunteer memberships available at an additional cost. See Membership Categories for more details.
Suggested Volunteer Activities
- Lake Lanier Hosted Regattas*
- Taste of Gainesville*
- College Spring Break (Usually February, March, and April)
- Coxing at club practices (One time required)
- Regattas
- Learn To Row Sessions
- Coaching assistance (approved by Head Coach)
- LLRC Erg Event Logistics
- Shell maintenance and repair
- Launch maintenance and repair
- Venue maintenance and repair
- Course installation and removal
- Launch driving for club practices
- Dock maintenance and logistics
- Special projects assigned by the Board
*The Taste of Gainesville and club hosted regattas are such large events that all members are expected to volunteer.
The following activities should NOT be reported:
- Travel time to any activity
- Personal meetings with the Coach
- Practice rowing sessions
- Attendance at club meetings
- Ergometer, exercise or conditioning sessions
- Recreational or competition rowing activity
