Lauren “Grace” Trujillo will be joining the University of Central Florida (UCF) rowing program this Fall 2018 season committing as a freshman to the Class of 2022. Grace joined the Lake Lanier Rowing Club (LLRC) in Gainesville, GA the Winter 2016 season. Before pursuing the sport of rowing, Grace had been awarded varsity letters in softball, basketball and track at Lanier High School in Buford, GA. Head Coach Tracey Mayo comments, “Grace showed a great aptitude for rowing right off the bat. She was not afraid of the time commitment and hard work that is required for success in the sport.” Grace will be the second athlete in LLRC’s Juniors program history to commit to a Division I rowing program. Coach Mayo adds, “Grace sets the stage in opening doors for future female athletes. Her success demonstrates that opportunities do exist no matter how small your team is”.
