Who can join?

The Youth Program is open to girls and boys from any high school or middle school in the area.  No experience necessary!  We will teach you everything you need to know about rowing.

What are the benefits?

Rowing is a great sport that combines a full body workout with aerobic training. Especially for female rowers, many college scholarship opportunities are available at schools with Division I programs. Rowing experience can also enhance your college application to Division II and III programs, as well as Ivy League schools.   It’s a great way to spend afternoons on the lake!

Rowing can be considered the ultimate team sport – it takes 2, 4, 5 or 9 people working together to get the boat to move fast (or move at all!).  100% attendance is strongly encouraged to facilitate team cohesion and improvements.  If you regularly miss practices you will not only be hindering your own success, but the success of the entire team.

More information on the High School or Middle School programs can be found on tabs under the Juniors Program, on the top navigation bar.
